Overview
Investment List is a platform built to simplify how investors discover, evaluate, and fund emerging startups. The client’s goal was to create a digital space that prioritizes investors first, while giving startups a streamlined way to list and manage their funding applications.The project began with a blog-style marketing website to generate early traction through articles, insights, and announcements — paving the way for the main platform launch. Once the website was live, focus shifted to designing and developing the core product experience.
Understanding the
Vision
The client wanted more than just an investment directory — they wanted a functional ecosystem where investors could manage portfolios, track returns, and explore verified opportunities, while startups could easily apply for funding and monitor their progress.This required building:
- A modern investor dashboard with key metrics and portfolio overviews.
- A startup onboarding and application flow.
- A scalable design system for future admin and analytics modules.
Defining the
Experience
We began by gathering detailed requirements and mapping the platform’s core journeys in FigJam. This included defining three core personas — Investor, Startup, and Admin — each with distinct goals and interaction patterns.From there, we created:
- User flows for onboarding, browsing, and investment management
- Information architecture to ensure scalability
- Wireframes outlining MVP functionalities for both investors and startups
Design System & Visual Direction
To ensure consistency and scalability, a custom design system was built from scratch in Figma. It included:
- A neutral color palette emphasizing trust and professionalism
- Modular UI components adaptable across web and mobile
- Data visualization patterns for investment metrics and performance graphs
The investor journey was designed to feel personalized and insightful.
Investor Experience
Key features included:
- A dashboard showcasing total investments, ROI, and performance trends
- Smart browsing to filter and discover startups by category or funding stage
- Detailed startup profiles with key metrics, team background, and traction data
For startups, the focus was simplicity and progress visibility.
Startup Experience
The design enabled them to:
- Create detailed profiles and submit funding applications
- Track approval stages and investor interest in real time
- Receive clear status updates and next-step guidance
From UX to Development
Once the designs were approved, the project moved into full-stack development.The platform was built from scratch, integrating front-end precision with robust back-end logic.The team prioritized performance, security, and data scalability to handle future growth and complex analytics.The blog website continues to act as the public-facing layer — publishing investment articles, startup insights, and platform updates — while the main application is currently in internal testing before public launch.
Outcome
Investment List evolved into a comprehensive digital ecosystem for investors and startups. The result is a product that feels modern, trustworthy, and effortless to navigate — a foundation ready to scale as the platform expands.Even in its MVP stage, the platform successfully brings together the key elements of design clarity, data transparency, and investor confidence — setting the tone for what’s next in digital investment experiences.
