Codieshub

IoT Software Development Company

Deploy Smarter Connected Devices with AI at the Edge

Firmware, device-cloud bridges, and on-device inference for connected-product fleets: secure, observable, and ready to scale from pilot to millions of devices.

What does IoT software development include?

IoT software development spans three layers: device protocols such as MQTT, BLE and LoRaWAN; ingestion and processing through Kafka or AWS IoT Core with time-series storage; and the dashboards, alerting and control-plane APIs on top. Codieshub prototypes a real device talking to real cloud infrastructure early, so integration failures surface in week two.

How we build IoT software

IoT engineering is where hardware constraints, real-time data, and cloud infrastructure collide, and where teams that approach it like ordinary web development run into serious trouble. Firmware update cycles that brick devices in the field, MQTT brokers that buckle under 50,000 concurrent connections, telemetry pipelines that drift out of sync with physical-world events: these are the failure modes that make IoT projects uniquely expensive to recover from. The software layer alone is only part of the picture.

Codieshub has built production IoT systems across transportation, energy, and connected device verticals: including Charge IQ (EV charging network management), Connected Railway (real-time rail telemetry and operations), and Saudia Cargo (cargo tracking and logistics visibility). Our engineers are experienced with the full IoT stack: embedded protocol handling (MQTT, AMQP, CoAP), edge computing and on-device processing, time-series data storage, and the cloud orchestration layer that ties it together.

We bring particular depth to the firmware-to-cloud boundary. The part most IoT projects get wrong first. Data schemas that seemed reasonable during prototyping become a schema migration nightmare when 20,000 devices in the field are sending the old format. We design for this from the outset: versioned message schemas, forward-compatible device registries, and OTA update pipelines that degrade gracefully when connectivity is intermittent.

The challenge

Most IoT projects succeed in the lab and fail at scale. Device provisioning that works for 50 units breaks at 5,000. A telemetry pipeline that handles prototype traffic becomes a bottleneck when real device fleets come online. Edge cases in connectivity (intermittent cellular, GPS blackouts, firmware version skew across a fleet) are discovered in production rather than tested for in development, and fixing them means coordinating software changes against hardware that cannot be easily recalled.

Our approach

Codieshub structures IoT engagements around the three layers that must cohere: the device and protocol layer (MQTT, AMQP, BLE, LoRaWAN, cellular), the data ingestion and processing layer (Apache Kafka or AWS IoT Core, time-series databases, edge inference), and the application layer (dashboards, alerting, control-plane APIs). We prototype the full stack early, real device talking to real cloud infrastructure, so integration failures surface in week two, not month six. Fleet management, OTA updates, and device provisioning are scoped as production requirements, not post-launch additions.

The outcome

Clients leave with an IoT platform designed to scale from pilot fleet to full commercial deployment: fleet management is automated, the telemetry pipeline is sized and load-tested for real-world device volumes, and operations teams have dashboards and alerting that reflect actual device state. OTA update pipelines allow firmware changes to roll out in controlled cohorts with automatic rollback on elevated error rates, so field devices can be kept current without risking the entire fleet.

Process

How we deliver every sprint.

Our engineers are not freelancers, and we are not a marketplace. Dedicated Codieshub seniors, seated with your team.

Before kickoff

First-touch deep dive.

Pre-kickoff technical and strategic review.

Before a single line of code, we sit with your team to align on stack, constraints, and what success looks like. Our VP Eng, CTO, and senior leads join, not a sales engineer.

  1. Full review of your stack, goals, and constraints before kickoff

  2. Session led by VP Eng, CTO, and the senior leads who'll staff the work

  3. Architecture, tooling, and team shape agreed before the first sprint

Questions

Frequently asked, honestly answered.

The questions we get on every intro call, answered without the marketing gloss.

  1. We have production experience with MQTT (via AWS IoT Core, EMQX, and Mosquitto), AMQP (RabbitMQ), CoAP for constrained devices, BLE for proximity use cases, and LoRaWAN for long-range low-power sensor networks. The protocol choice depends on your device hardware, connectivity environment, message frequency, and latency requirements. We conduct a technical architecture session in the first two weeks to select the protocol stack and broker infrastructure before building the ingestion layer.
